kettenkrad 1/35 scale

where can i find a 1/35 scale kettenkrad or a sidecar motorcycle?

DML makes a couple of kits of the Kettenfraftrad. Tamiya made an ancient one in the mid 70s. Tamiya also has a sidecar motorcycle from that era as well. Most hobbyshops will be able to get you any of these.

Tamiya has both. Run about 12.50. USA moola.[dinner]

Italeri had a motorcycle with sidecar as well. A much better kit than the Tamiya one, although the Tamiya kit is not a bad model.

thanks for the replys what are the prices like

Visit some online hobbyshops and see. Your local shop may have them too or at least can order them for you. Might save a few bucks on shipping. The DML one goes for $15. The others are about $10 or so.

Here’s the 1980s Testors boxing of the Italeri kit on sale on eBay (no connection to seller). As stated, these old kits normally go for around $10 or so.

Took the words out of my mouth. The Italeri kit of the sidecar is quite nice actually.

I don’t really recommend the Tamiya offering of the Kennenkrad, unless you’re specifically looking for a quick, easy build.

Can’t comment on the Italeri motorcycle, but the Tamiya needs a good dela of TLC to make it margianlly realistic, for example there are no clutch of brake leers and more iportantly, the engine does not connect to the exhaust! that said, there are tons of pics online to use as references and these are easy fixes.

Likewise, the Tamiya Kettenrad needs attention, but as mentioned is a quick build. References are a little harder to come by and you’ll quickly learn it was built by a sewing machine company! I read some harsh words about the tracks on the DML, indis, IIRC.
