Hmmm;
Waking Up. Elbow hurts. Did I hit the wall again last night? Cat’s in usual place, Nose to my cheek, Gosh those whiskers tickle! Well,one eye is opening now. Hmmm; sunlight is coming in the window! I AM alive! Lets get a good stretch and head to the shower. Boy, That Hot water feels good!
Just think after 60 years, I still get to play with models. Nothing pending yet for the day. I think I will get a Cup of Coffee. Aah! Oh, that hits the spot! Now for the latest, I think I will go outside for my coffee and a Cigarette. Yeah, they’re bad for me but after 70 years I don’t really worry about it. I could get eliminated just walking across the street!
Went to the Bench and promptly dropped my fine parts cabinet when I was trying to move it. Rails of all scales from 1/700 all the way to 1/48 all over the floor. Cat( her name is SAM, It’s not short for Samantha though) thinks," Oh Boy" new toys! Pop her butt. She sits and stares at me from the corner. " I’ll Get You Human,How dare you do this to me" ? She’s cool after a minute or two. I got everything picked up.
Thinking about a run for Cigs and Gas. Yeah I’ll do that soon. Gees! Can’t help but think Ya Know, It’s great to just be alive! Aches, Pains and Pain in the A$$%$ included. Ya know Just Thinkin! Oh also . Didja ever notice how soft your pet Dog or Cat’s fur gets over the years?
Hey! I got an Idea. Why don’t All the modelers take a Day, any Day, and in their mind create “National Model Builders Day”! That day you get to treat yourself to lunch with your favorite friends, Even virtually, and talk models while consuming something forbidden by your Doctor. Oh! He’s part of your group? Sorry? Oh well, Ya Know, Just Thinking
TB, your cat’s name is SAM? Does that mean she’s skilled at engaging aerial targets? [H]
Every day is a day to be grateful for.
You should quit smoking. We’d all like you to be around for a while.
suggestion from a friend.
Bill
EagleCash867;
Like all cats she has her moments. Aerial Targets? You Bet! If she was a Surface to Air unit she would be scoring 98% hits. Man, that cat can Jump!
Bill;
Thank you for that. The Covid thing Pushed me off the wagon. I had gone for almost 11 months without a cig. The Museum funding falling and everyone dying or getting sick Did it! I have gone from a pack a day back to about a pack every three days.
I am doing it like I did Before. Easy and slow! My Doctor even fell off the wagon. So this time we are doing it together!
My Cats are Harry Mudd and Bruce Wayne, for good reason. It helps if you know Star Trek and Batman.
…would that be Harcourt Fenton Mudd?
TB, at your age and health smoking is not a good idea…that being said, you are a grown man who has endured the peaks and valleys of life, if it helps you stay " sane" then good. I have no place to judge when it comes to demons in my closet.
I like the idea of taking a virtual day, heck I do it almost everyday…probably why my stash isn’t getting any smaller lol. 2020 has been a year od strange for sure, I for one miss the simple freedom of going to a club meeting. My club is mostly old timers who have limited computer skills and by the grace of a higher power we hav not lost anyone to the virus…yet.
I have a job interview today finally after being out of work since March, started as a COVID scare then the company ceased operations internationally, put over a hundred folks out of work. My stiuation was self induced but because of the virus turned into an inevitable, I only hastened it by 2wks.
I know the feeling of aches and pains like everybody else and like most I thank my higher power that I am alive to fight another day. TB sometimes your posts are insperational…what I do with them is on me…so today I am going to ROCK my interview, come home, tinker on a kit, watch a DVD and long for Friday so I can " fall off the wagon" for a few days.
Thanks TB, stay the course and build on.
armornut, Good luck with the job interview. I know how hard it is to be unemployed. Let us know how it goes!
I really hope the interview goes/went well - good luck!
Hi, TB, it’s good to read something down-to-earth and positive - thanks!
It got me the other way round - though not a heavy smoker, I’d smoked for a lot of years, almost exclusively when out for a drink with friends. Then Boris called a lockdown, everything shut - especially the pubs - so, no more meeting my mates for a pint. What with everything going on, it was nearly two weeks before I realised I hadn’t had a cigarette. I haven’t had one since, and have no intention of buying any more.
But I’m not preaching - take care, look after SAM, and keep on doing what makes you feel good. And thanks again for the positive vibes.
Montague, Hutch, interview went well, start on the 30th or 31st of November this year lol. Thanks for your support.
Thanks again Tanker-Builder…your comments here are what helps keep these forums entertaining. Noww put that cig out, shoo the kitty, and BUILD SOMETHING LOL[Y][Y]
Know where you are coming from TB. I quit in’09, year and a half later had 3 heart attacks in 36 hours. 3 stents and an ICD/pacemaker… 4 years later the wife passed…shortly after that said what’s the point and started again. Got to quit again, and the new sin tax passed here will be the kicker to get it done. Went from $1.70 to 3.70 a pack taxes. Cigar tax doubled as well (my form of sin).
Congratulations & well done - it’s good to hear good news!
