Just saying hi

Hi. While I’m not new to modeling I am new to this forum. I was a regular on the SA forum for a number of years. Some of you may remember me as maniacal-modeler. I haven’t built a model in about 2 years and hopefully I’ll be making a comeback soon! I have an old project I want to finish someday. I have a number of photos stored on Flickr. But I can’t seem to post a photo without it just being a link and not the photo itself. So when I get that worked out I’ll post what I have done so far.

[snWcm] aboard! Hope you enjoy your time here!

It’s been a minute since I used Flickr (currently using Postimage), so I forget what their exact layout is…but I seem to recall I would copy something like “photo location,” then come back here and paste it into the post using the “insert/edit image” button in the toolbar above (the picture frame with mountains icon). Then the photo would appear. Whatever it was, it wasn’t terribly complicated or challenging…I’m not exactly an IT whiz. [:(DD]

If the above doesn’t help, hopefully someone who uses Flickr now will chime in with something useful.

I look forward to seeing your work! [Y]

Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you aboard!

Members here are very knowledgeable and ready to help with any problems/questions that you may have. I’ve learned a lot from them and am still learning. Been building for 76 of my 82 years. You name it and I build it.

Stay Safe.

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome Maniac-Modeler. Hope you get you image posting issues figured out.

I use postimages.org for several years now. Very easy to use. You just drag and drop your images onto the page, and it generates various types of links for you. (choose direct link) and click the copy button on the right. Then you just need to click the photo button in the form post editor and paste the link.

If you need to post multiple photos. You need to wrap each link you generated in post image in a paragraph and image src tag as show below and paste in your post using the source code buton above (the one that looks like a greater than and less than sign). example of what that should look like at very bottom of this post. You can drag multiple images at ones onto postimage web site and it will generate multiple links in one shot. hope this helps!

Sounds good,welcome aboard.

Well! Hi yerself! Welcome!

Thanks everyone! I’m looking forward to getting this photo hosting thing figured out and getting back to some building! Thanks for all of the suggestions, too!
