Just finished this model yesterday. I built it strait Out Of the Box. I didn’t add seatbelts, or an antenna. I also didn’t put on the drop tanks supplied in the kit as the kit decals were of one of the several “Cactus Air Force” plane flown by Capt Joe Foss and others, and every resource I have shows no drop tanks in use by the marines.
therriman! Looks good man![tup]
Could you show us some more detailed photos? It’s hard to tell it’s 1:32, cause you havent zoomed enough.
Sure likes a sweet project. I’d like to build it myself one day…[8D]
Great looking Wildcat, therriman. On this kit, do the wings fold, or do you build either extended or folded?

Looks great! Thanks for sharing.
Darren.
Thanks guys. Here is the best I can do of a close-up with my set-up:
This kit can be built either way. I was able to move the wings back and forth with care. But it is fragile. Since I plan on building the forth-coming -3 (solid wings), I figured I’d leave them folded. I forgot to mention I did one non-OOB thing to this kit. I put some wiring in the engine (plug wires).
Nice job, therriman!
Even in 1/32, the Wildcat probably isn’t too big. Folding the wings must leave some extra shelf space for more !
Well done !
tim that looks awesome. well done.
joe
Thanks Pix & joe. The folded wings really help on the shelf space that’s for sure. I just might build their 1/32 F4U-4 on the shelf with folded wings too.
Very nice build & painting. Thanks for sharing. Keep em coming.
Nice job therriman… you even have it ready on the “deck” for take off…sorry couldn’t resist [;)]
Nice job, Tim! All it needs is a flight deck under it! I’ve been toying with the idea of buying one of those since it came out.
Paul
Great job on the wildcat. Thanx for sharing.
Timm,
Looking good. Now I will have to dig mine out and see what I can do. Keep up the good work and thanks for the look.
Richard
Nice work, Tim!
Now, is it Zero time??
Looks great!
She sure is a beauty.
Beautiful job Tim!
Thanks!! [:)]
Frank
Ya know I’m thinking it just might be.
Looks pretty good there, Tim. How long did it take and were there any problems? I tell 'ya, even though a 32nd Wildcat isn’t huge, it still looks deceptively small against the deck…
HEY! Wait a minute!!! Shouldn’t there be a big 'ole #7 on the door fuselage and an Owl on the hood nose?
Fade to Black…
Nice job on the Wildcat, Tim.
Regards, Dan
Thanks guys. Steve-O the project took about 5 months on and off about 1 day a week, while working on other kits too. The cockpit fit was very poor, but that’s because of the re-tool, and was spelled out in the FSM Review build. Just took some filler and patence. [banghead][banghead][censored] An AM cockpit would probably help alot.
