As you may already realize, I do not build much armor. I am going on a short trip where accomodations and entertainment will be sparse so I thought that I would take an armor model with me to work on (will travel better in foot locker when finished). Are these pretty good kits and not too hard to build? I am also interested in any tips on building the Easy Tracks.
There are a lot of metal and PE extras in there, but if you are used to working with PE, you’ll be fine. The easy tracks are pretty straightforward. Just put a minimum of glue on the attachment points to hold them. If you can take along something to use as a jig to place a long the side of the run to keep it straight, that would be helpful. I wouldn’t call it an easy build, but it is pretty straightforward. Study the directions, as they get complicated
I understand your thoughts, but I think that it will pack up better than a helo with a completed rotorhead. I hope to be able to bring it back in two pieces and add the minor details at home. I am just looking to have fun and try armor again with a kit that fits well and does not have any real problems. It seems that this is a pretty accurate kit SFTB and painting will be easy. Besides, I couldn’t get the Tamiya 48th scale Tiger in time to send down.
I myself have built 2 of these beauties one for myself and one for a friend who uses it in games of Warhammer40K (shakes head) [sigh] I tell you WAIT UNTIL YOU GET HOME FOR THE TRACKS! ! !LOL they fit together verry well and look great once finished. The rest of the kit will keep you busy Trust Me All in All on a 1 to 5 i give the kit a 4.5
I just finished this kit. It was alot of fun, but the directions were somewhat challenging. I agree that this is not one for the road. It was helpful to spread the parts out while working (and there are alot of parts). I wish I knew how to post photos so I could attach some of my early tiger for you. However I can’t seem to find the button. Good luck.
