Just a little tease . . .

Very nice build and I always wonder how you make the pictures so nice. I have a digital camera but I always have to correct the immage before posting.

Very well done. Great finishing. Can’t wait to see it when it’s all done!
Cheers,

Thank you kik36, bdelov, and johnforster !

kik - I used tiny drops of Krystal Kleer to temporarily hold the nose glazing. The top piece is glued with CA, so the white glue bond gives first. I just gently turned it, like opening a door. Any glue left behind is easily removed with a # 11 blade. The vac was then glued with Krystal Kleer. It’s a pretty easy operation, as long as you’re gentle and use care.

bdelov - using the White Balance on the camera is the most important part of rendering colors faithfully. If your camera has a feature where you can set the White Balance (as opposed to having generic presets), I suggest using it. With your subject, lighting, and camera in place, put a piece of white paper under your lights so that it fills the picture’s frame. Let the camera “read” it, and your colors will be set. If your camera has this feature, your manual will explain how to use it.
I use a very nice camera (Canon PowerShot G5, 5 megapixels) and 3 GE “Reveal” bulbs (100w & two 75w) for lighting. All my pics are shot with a tripod, using all manual settings. I also use a remote shutter control to prevent camera shake during exposure.

johnforster - I hope to be posting pics of the finished bird today. I only have two antennas to add, and it’s done.

Thanks again !
