Jungle Foliage (35th Scale)

Greetings all

Wondering if you had any leads / contacts for purchasing 35th (or close) scale jungle types of foliage?

I have sniffed around a bit and haven’t found anything very exciting. Hopefully a shop / web within the US.

Any help is appreciated…

Bill

Hello mate,

Try these, unfortunately for you they are not in the US, but it’s a start…

I guess if all else fails you could try making them yourself from paper, wire, etc. I have read an article online recently on how to make jungle plants but I can’t for the life of me find where it is, sorry. The process was pretty similar to an article in the April 2011 FSM about scratchbuilding trees, but using foliage cut from ordinary paper and painted various shades of green. The result was pretty good as well, considering it could be made with scraps.

Hope this helps.

Emmsy.

Thank you very much! I will check them out… if all else fails, I will make some.

Again, certainly appreciate your help!

Hey buddy! Was surfing eBay and found this… thought you would be interested. For only few bucks I think it won’t hurt to try those…

Yeah, there’s lots of great (but pricey) PE jungle plants from Eduard and Verlinden and some really nice paper plants made by a Japanese company named Wako. Haven’t tried them yet but they look pretty cool.

I’ve also made palm fronds from plastic and silk ferns I’ve picked up at the florist/craft shop.

The July/August 1984 (vol2 #5) issue of FSM has an article on making “realistic” jungle foliage.

Gamera and mitsdude, appreciate all the help

mits, I’ll have to dig up the 84 issue, especially now out of curiositiy for sure…

Again, thank you both!

Don’t rule out going to craft stores (and Micahel’s & Hobby Lobby) and looking over the stuff there that’s for the fake floral displays… While palm fronds are tough, there ARE some thigs that can be converted with far less work than cutting paper ones, and WAY less money than a few PE fronds…

Certain ferns, as well as other stuff like reindeer and other mosses make good undergrowth…

Great info, much thanks Hans, appreciate it
