Greetings to all! After some deliberation, and some good advice from some good people on this forum, I think I finally came up with a decent color mix for a P-47D cockpit. Painting the cockpit is one of my favorite parts of the build. Unfortunately, once you close up the fuselage, most of It’s out of sight. At least I know I’ts there.
Most references seem to lean towards a color called dull dark green. It looks close to me.
Thanks guys. Sorry about the belts. I’ve got a PE set coming, and in the mean time a stuck the Tamiya decal in place with some Blu-tac. It really doesn’t look too bad though.
I got a little bit of everything in there. Mostly drybrushing and some burnt umber pastels for a little dirt. I also lightened up the base color and sprayed some areas to give it a little shadow.
I can’t say much about color accuracy - I just don’t know
But the detail work is incredible ! and you certainly nailed a real lived in look. Very nice.
Wow, wow, wow!
You guys that post your pics always give me something to strive for.
Not only is that detail amazing, but the light weathering really tops it off.
Amazing work [tup]
excellent finish to it man. Love the IP… great detail. Doesnt the Jug have some plumbing along the side walls. Would really set it off if it did and you plumbed it.
