While I was shooting the SB-2 I took the opportunity to take a couple of shots of a Ju-88 (Pro Modeler) that I did last year.
Hardest thing other than painting the spots was putting together that canopy - what a beast!
looks pretty good
swanny thanks for posting this one i like the color scheme on it.

Hi Swanny,
I am happy to hear you had the same problems with the canopy that I had. 3 parts for the main cockpit. Terrible. I used the Eduard paint masks and that was a big help. The kit isn´nt what I expected for that price. Loads of puttying and sanding.
Here are a few pics of my model. It s on still on the bench. Hope you like it. One day in the future I hope to get such results as you do.
Great work
Gerald
very nice build matt!! later.
now that some good looking JU-88.Digger
Gerald, yours looks like it’s coming along fairly well. We are not alone - I know many who have built this kit and every single one had the same problems.
Thanks to everyone for the comments. I just finished hanging the Tupolev from the ceiling - sure looks good up there. Now I may have to build another 109 to prey on it.
Very nice build Swanny. Did you AB the mottle, or brush paint ? I’m working on a Bf-108 in a similar scheme and trying to decide on the technique for the mottle.
Regards, Rick
Rick, this one was done with a soft brush and thin paint. For the J7W2 project I’m working on I will be doing a similar style 1946 Korean Penninsula winter scheme with masks and AB.
hey there Swanny. Pro finish on that one man. That particular shceme isnt one of my favorites, just dont like it with the 88’s lines but that personal. Your tech on masking is awesome. Hope my stang thats coming up will have better masking then what I been doing, I been looking at your pics very closely…thanks for showing
Swanny, that kit was a beast to build. The canopy problems you’ve already discovered. I had problems with warpage, but corrected them over a couple of days. Good looking build.
Thanks an awesome lookin plane ,the ol 88 is a classic.
Fantastic camo job must have been tough to decide as the kit comes with 2 excellent choices.
Looking good, Gerald! great interior detal, by the way!
Matt: Stellar work once again, buddy! Your Condor now has some company! [:D] Hmmm… how did you connect the vertical aerials to the horizontal main aerial? some sort of putty?
It looks good mate… Thanks for sharing the pics.
Very well done indeed Swanny,i love those desert colours(sorry colors )i have 3 109’s myself all to be done in JG27s North African colour scheme…J.S
Another great job Swanny…
Great job Swanny… thanks for giving a glimpse… it really hit the spot… spot, spot, spot…spot…spot…
Swanny, thanks for the feedback. I’m pretty lousy with a brush for this type of camo, so I think I’ll go with the AB & either mask or try it freehand. The Bf-108 I’m doing seems to have a little softer mottle.
Regards, Rick
Cool Swanny, I love the desert camo on the Ju-88!
