I’ve been on the lookout for this kit for quite a while-- pref 1/48 scale any recommendations?
If you want 1/48th, I can only think of three kits. try the Promodler JU88A4 which is based on the DML mold, or if you can find it, the DML kit. Hobbycraft produced one as well but it really leaves a few things to be desired. I can say that from experience with it.
can someone tell me whether the a-4, which is my prom modeller kit, was used in BoB??
I’m highly confident the A-4 was used in the BoB. But don’t take my word for it, check some resources online. On second thought, I have a resource please hold…
…ahh yes, looks like the A-1 varient was most widely used during BoB. You really need to check some references of a particular aircraft you want to model as their were a few running changes even in the A-1 varients.
The A-4 was introduced in 1941, the A-1 is what you are looking to build. You can still go ahead use the A-4 kit along with a conversion set from Model Design Construction. http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/place/gfb78/index.htm
The primary JU 88 used in the BOB was the A-1 although there were a few A-5 used also. A-5 had the A-4 canopy and long wings with the A-1 engines and rudder assy.
