Ju-87G in 1/72... which is the best?

I’m about to purchase a Ju-87G… here in my country I can choose between the Academy Ju-87G-1 and the taleri Ju-87G-2… here (in Perú) they cost the same ($ 13.00… so expensive!)… can anyone tell me which of this kits is the best… I’m talking about accuracy, details, etc…

Personally, I would go with the Academy kit. I am building it now and have not had any major problems. In my experience, limited though it is, the Academy kits are a step ahead of the Italeri kits. Though, that is just my opinion.

I understand that the Academy nose is a tad too short, if you worry about that stuff (I usually don’t). They’re both nice kits though from what I hear. I generally would take Academy over Italeri, but the Italeri is one of their better releases, engraved panel lines, etc.

I’ve built one of each & they are both nice kits. The Academy kit is a little off dimensionally, but still looks real good built up. The Italeri is one of their better kits & also builds up into a nice model. Kind of a “flip the coin” situation.

Regards, Rick

I agree with Rick. It’s just a matter to flip the coin and you’d have the right choice.

Buy one of each…[:D]

This is the outlook that upsets my “better” half.[B)]

Italeri kit is more accurate, but has a bit deeper panel lines than Academy.

Academy is full of small errors: nose is 3mm shorter than it should be, vertical tail shape is too square in my opinion, wheel covers are also a bit wrong in shape, and there is “something” on the left wing reinforcement strip (it shouldn’t be there…)

All in all, Italeri is more acurate in shape, but the Academy has better and finer detail…

The choice is yours

Four years too late, yet so good timing… I bought the Academy kit, but when I moved, my Stuka got missing… So I’ll buy another one, an Italeri Stuka, this time. Thanks for your input. Best regards.
