Erik,
I saw some pages on the JM-1 Marauder on Google. You might want to look
there. If it’s any help, I remember seeing Navy JD-1’s (Douglas A-26) set up
for target towing back in the early 60’s on Okinawa. They were painted Midnight Blue on
the fuselage with “Yellow/Orange” wings and empanage.
The Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Fla. might also have some info on JM-1’s
in their tech library.
Best of luck
Ray
Erik,
I just noticed…Your first post! Let me be the first to say “Welcome Aboard!”
You’ll find more helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly people here than you
would have thought possible.
I just had a quick look at Google and came up with a few photos of Monogram’s
Martin B-26 converted into a JM-1. I wouldn’t count too much on it’s accuracy but,
it might provide some ideas and inspiration. It looks pretty good.

According to Elliot, the color was Orange Yellow, ANA 614, which corresponds to FS 595a as 33538. The BuNo on one JM-1 was 66713 - see the model photo above for the location of the BuNo and “JM-1” on the vertical fin and rudder respectively. There was also a very small “Navy” aft of the red-bar-less national insignia.
I don’t know much about Martin B-26s, but the JM-1 was reportedly the Air Force AT-23/TB-26 trainer (B-25C derivative?) with the pointy aft fuselage and no turrets.
