During my research I have seen some pictures of Japanese WW II airplanes painted a bright orange color. After a look at the local hobby shop and a quick Internet search I cannot find a Japanese orange. Anyone knows who makes one or how to mix an appropriate color? Thanks for any help.
If you post a pic of a orange plaen i can tell you/
The Japanese only painted their prototypes or test aircraft orange. They used a gloss orange with no other markings, other than ID numbers. The orange used would be like international orange, but in gloss finish. Id numbers would be in black.
Also, trainers like the Willow were orange. And I have profiles for Zeroes from cadet schools with green topsides and orange undersides.
The IPMS Color Cross-Reference Guide lists this color as follows: N18 - Red Orange - FS31400 - Trainers, experimental aircraft, and rare use on Hinomarus - Good match, but should be a bit more gray and slightly less intense. [;)]
This should not be too difficult to mix from most any orange or red.

Isn’t the Tamiya 1/48 Item 61056 | Hyakushiki Shitei III Kai Air Defense Fighter that color?
