I have been modeling again now for a couple of years and I have found that my Aztec A470 (yeah, yeah I know) is just about kaput.
I have decided to replace it with an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS from Dixie Art, along with the .5mm needle/nozzle combo. I understand that the .5mm needle/nozzle combo is a four part option, but I am not certain of exactly which parts I need.
Could someone who knows please tell me which extra parts I require so that I can order the whole thing in one go? Any help would be much appreciated
I do actually want the CS with it’s .35mm nozzle for most of my work, its just that I would like the flexibility of a .5mm nozzle for spraying in particular circumstances.
darren, i know exactly where you’re coming from my friend. i have the hp-cs with the .35mm and the .5mm n/n combo. i also have the hp-c with the .3mm and .4mm so i think i’m covered although some people on here would call me an idiot as you dont really need all these for modelling. its a three part conversion darren: needle, nozzle, and if you want to be technical the nozzle cap. the part #'s are i602, i604, and i617. now, i didnt purchase the nozzle cap because they were out of stock at the time and i didnt have the patience to wait so i converted to the .5mm with just the needle and nozzle and used the crown cap i purchased when i ordered the hp-cs and its been working beautifully. its great for broad coverage! i spray all base coats, primers, future, sealers and such with the .5mm in the hp-cs and then use the .3mm, .35mm, and .4mm for detailing. i even use the .3mm needle in the .4mm nozzle and get a really fine line!! never ran into a problem yet and i love the lines i can get by mix matching my needles with larger nozzles. later.
here’s what Dixie art told me to buy. It’s the same part numbers that saltydog sent…i think.
Hello,
That brush normally takes the .35mm set up. If you want to change that to the .5mm, you would need:
94 I6021 Nozzle Cap: $6.35
94 I6041 Nozzle: $8.69
94 I6171 Needle: $6.35
thats why i didnt purchase the hp-cr. i got the conversion kit for less than half price of a hp-cr. ofcourse, i paid $105 for the eclipse but i have all the range i need now. later.
