Ok, i had the time and boy did i need all of it. I decided to try and make a Panzer 4 ausf D. I decided on an early version and used the tamiya kit as a starter. Also was a Edwurd photoetched set, fruilmodel tracks and sprockets. Modelkastens road wheel set. Tiger models cupola and final drive housings. This plus lots of detail work like hand wound springs plus hooking up all the electrical leads to the rear smoke dischargers. I learned a lot and will probally try this again in a year or two… Once i get it painted and weathered i submit it to the readers forum. After this i’ll need some easy projects.
Sounds like you’ve put a lot of work into this baby…when do we get to see the pictures?
Yea…it sounds like it i going to be awsome. I am working on a Panzer IV “J” myself. I started with the old 1970’s Tamiya kit and did ALOT of scratchbuilding to get it right, plus alot of after-market stuff too. It is just about ready for painting as well, but I don’t have a good enough camera to take some pics. Hey…can you take some pics of it before you paint it?..I would love to see them. If you would send me some, that would be cool. =)
Sure i’ll send some pic’s tommorrow. Bill
Awesome Crossracer, can’t wait to see the pics!!!
I agree with everyone else…I cant wait to see the pictures!
I did a Panzer IVd from Tamiya straight from the box.ALOT of work just to get everything to fit.It turned out nice.I called it a “geduld spiel”(game of patients).I also got a lesson in problem solving.Sounds like you tackled it in GRAND style!
