Italeri Semovente and Model Kasten tracks

I’m contemplating my first AFV in a very long time, and am looking at Italeri’s Semovent M42/75 for the North Africa GB.

Wanting to do things properly I thought I’d give indy tracks a go, as the kit ones don’t look too hot.

My question is two fold, are the Model Kasten tracks worth the money, they’re twice as expensive as the kit itself?

And secondly they are listed as being for the Ansaldo M13/40, which was the donor chassis for the Semovente, will they fit?

I’m assuming yes due to them being the same chassis, but want to check before forking out $35!

Thanks in advance.

Karl

Both kits use the same lower hull and running gear. Have you looked at the resin tracks by Model Victoria? I picked up a set and they look really nice. They snap together and remain workable. I have not used my set yet, but they were designed to be used with the Italeri kit.

Where is this North African GB? I must have slpet under a rock.

Tigerman it’s in the group build forum. You wanna join?

Sorry for being[#offtopic[#oops]

Rob Thanks for the info on the Model Victoria tracks, they sound like a good alternative to the Modelkasten and Friul tracks. Looks like I can get them from a place in Northern Italy.

What’s trhe detail like?

YG No apologies needed, the more in the GB the better.

Tiger The GB covers the whole North African campaign from 1940 - 1943, with an end date in September.

Thanks

Karl

Here is a quick review of the product. I think they look superb myself.

Rob Many thanks for the review, they look great, and much simpler than the Modelkasten tracks.

I think I’ll be ordering a set of those, along with the Eduard PE set for this build.

Thanks again.
