It looks nice, but do us a favor and edit your original message by hitting the “enter” key after each image url. That will stack the photos instead of stringing them out sideways.
[:D]good looking build,nice work.[:D]
Thanks Rob , I just asked that ? in the Odds & ends.
Good looking job Andrew! Like the little things like the helmet with netting, the fuel spills around the refill ports, the stowage, and just a nice overall finish. Thanks for sharing with us. Semper Fi, mike
very nice! What were your overall impressions with that kit 9I just picked it up for a few bucks
You didgreat on theold kit. I am using her as my doner kit for my easy8 conversion that Ive been workin on and off for 4 months now.Like how you did you storage.

Thanks guys. It really isn’t that bad of a kit. I put the Eduard pe set on it. It’s just a good basic kit.As other posts have stated the barrel has a steo to it that has to go. I scratched mine from plastic round stock chucked into a drill. Took sand paper and used the drill like a lathe with sand paper. That’s why there were so many all nighters!!! It was alot of fun to build.
Thnx for sharing your pics. May I offer a couple of suggestions? Firstly, the tracks on a Sherman were kept very taught. Any looseness at all required the crew to tighten them up or the danger of throwing the track was great. Secondly, the twine that you use seems a bit out of scale. In 1/1, the rope would be about 3" diameter, dontcha think? Hobby stores carry ship’s rigging string. Good for 1/35 rope.
Great looking sherman. All the extra stuff sets it apart. Sandbags look great, they look a little like leather but maybe thats just the picture, in any case they look real.
really nice job. stug61 i do like a nice weatherd look who’s kit?[8]
The tracks as I said were my first try at Modelkasten and they fell apart, probably cause I was too cautious with the glue.As I tried to repair there were extra spaces that lengthened them out. Although I have seen picts of Shermans with more slack than mine.Second the rope is exactly the scale I intended. My neighbor was with the third Inft. in WW2 and this is going to him.Through many conversations he’s enlightened me about many details including many tankers scrounging rope off the Navy for stowage or adding logs for extra armor.
Wait- you made the barrel yourself? Very impressive! I have been looking for a replacement barrel myself
I like it, a very cool Shermie, too bad about that track, it does take something away from the work. I really like the detail on that .50 cal good job man!
Steve
Jason,I took 3/16 styrene tube, put a wood peg in the end to strengthen it for the drill chuck. then used the drill to turn it like lathe on sand paper to get the taper.Once I got that to where I liked it I added a small pieceof full stock for the barrell end. Glued and puttied.
If you wouldn’t have told me, I would have said aluminum barrel. very impressive
thank’s i was’nt sure mk or afv and my kids in my ear. so its hard to read and type. AUGH.[8]
Very nice work, and don’t worry about those tracks.
Fantastic work, Stug61… The extra details bring this one to life!
