hey guys, here is the crusader i had been working on, it was built oob with just a bit of stowage added some of which isnt the greatest but it gets the job done and its good enough for the shelf, any how it was painted with mm acrylics as always and weathered with oils in the manner of a little chipping and plenty of washes to acheive a nice desert worn look i purposely left some green to the tarp to give a little contrast to an otherwise boring finish [:)] all comments welcome and thanks for looking.
Stunning work as always Ron, I’m out of things to say! Just incredible weathering. Is that some sort of headlight thing in the front? Is it a clear piece? Thanks for sharing your Biffa brand armor. (patent pending)
Mate (shakes head incredulously) mate. I, I, I, don’t have anything to say. Wait, yes I do. It’s all your fault I have to go back to the models I’ve finished & have another look at what I’ve done, or more importantly, what I haven’t done viz a viz weathering. May the demons invade your basement factory & steal your MM paints & weathering oils, so that us mere mortals stand a chance.
Well, I have a pretty good vocabulary in english
and I’ve ran out of adjectives [banghead] to describe
my opinion of your work.
I’ve used them all up in descriptions of your
past [tup] builds.
Would German do [?]
Now, I’m gonna have to learn a
second language because of your intense professionalism here.
You do immense credit to our hobby. Your results [^]
are the standards that many would love to attain. How’s that [?]
I warn you however that my future comments may have
to be expressed [:-,] in あすぎさずぢゑす japanese for
lack of a more comprehensive english dialect.
Don’t worry if you don’t understand them though …
… [%-)] I probably won’t either.
thanks for the great response guys im glad you like it,
eric the thing in the front is a headlight and it was just painted with bright alum and then coated with future a time or two,
i,de just like to point out to anyone goin to build this kit that the two things on the rear that i depicted at mufflers ive since found out they are not, they are infact air filters so you may not want to rust them up so much heh now i have a model of a wwII crusader with the rustiest air filters in the whole of the desert campaign but we live and learn,
disastermaster lol very funny stuff thanks for the laugh and kind words.
That finish is anything but boring. Yet another fantastic piece of work. An article on your finishing and weathering techniques would be a great addition to the mag, I would have to agree.
