italeri Boston III kit

Don’t know if this a new release, but I had never seen one (1/48th). Was going together OK till I got to the nose section for the bombadier. (Two are supplied, one for the British or Free French version, one for the American. I am building the American) Talk about a bad fit ! If you make it fit the configuration of the fuselage ( after much cussing and judicious bending) you end up with about a 1/8" gap on the bottom to be filled ! Luckily, the glass DOES fit.

I made the AMT version of the kit and found that it is better to join the nose halves to the respective fueslage side before joining the fueslage together. I found that this made the whole thing a lot easier and the joint was less of a problem.

the Italeri A-20’s are a Re-Issue of the old AMT kits, Italeri has been re-issuing the old ESCI and AMT kits for some time now since AMT dropped their Aircraft kit model line a few years back.

That kit does build out to a nice subject, the 5 I’ve built I never had that problem but then again My examples are of the AMT kind not Italeri’s, the kit may have had a bad warp into it because it may have had to been shipped from Italy instead of here in the States, but all of the ones I’ve built really didn’t need filler putty just Mr. Surfacer on the joint lines
