Here are the completed shots of my 1/35 Italeri AB41 Autoblinda done up in a camo scheme for Italy/Croatia in 1944. Build was done straight OOB and while not a shake-and-bake kit, I had fun with it both because of and in spite of some of its challenges. [:D]
its a beauty bill turned out great i love the overhead shots showing the camo off it also looks like you went a little heavier on the weathering than usual or maybe the camo shows it off more either way i like it,
I look forward to seeing you build one when you get to it, I didn’t think I’d tackle mine quite so soon but events played out that way. It turned out to be a great “sick day” project and went from there!
I think it’s a combination of both actually considering I added the extra overall wash to my normal process. I’d abandoned it for a while but returned to using it on this one. I think it works well for 3-tone camo to help tie it all in together and will keep it in the arsenal for future use. [:)]
Fingers,
The tires, being vinyl, are really nice detailwise but I was worried about how they would weather. I made sure they got a good coat of Future along with the Dullcoat that the rest of the kit did and it worked out great. Appreciate your comments!
[:P]hey bill[:D]-- i have looked at these pics over and over-- what an absolutely exquisite job you have done!!— i truly envy your airbrush talent-- a five star build-- start to finish[tup][tup]-- tread
[:I] I’m honored by your comments, but have to admit I was scared to death when attempting this pattern. I wasn’t sure my Aztek or I were up to it but it just called to me so I had to try. Took a lot of fiddling with air pressure and literally getting the nozzle right up to the model itself and I learned a lot, particularly the dangers of adopting the required hunched over position for more than 30 minutes at a stretch![:D]
Dwight,
Always a pleasure to hear from you, thanks for the kind words.
