Listed under the “New” kits section in Finescale a couple of months ago was the A-10 Warthog in 1/48 by Italeri. I’ve been doing a search today on the internet and cannot find anything about this kit being for sale. Does anyone have any information?
Have not found anything
Italeri’s kit 2655 (1:48 A-10), sorry to say, is not a new kit. It’ll be a re-issue of the old Esci kit (just in a new box). No official word on the release date, however.

That kit wasn’t so hot the first time around!
The Italeri A-10A 1/48 scale kit is that if the old ESCI brand, the only thing that kit has good in it is the GAU-8A Avenger cannon in it, I have that kit and I’m thinking of using it for a display to show off the gun in front of my 10 A-10’s (I’ll have 1.) the JAWS scheme, 2.) EURO I scheme, 3-9.) 442 FW Kirkuk Deployed A/C 2002, and 10.) A-10C)
I finally found this kit today. It is a new Kit from Italeri, not a repackage. This kit has very good exterior detail. But cockpit detail is lacking. Looks to be the best 1/48 scale kit of the A-10.
usersrdum;
Being a former A-10A Mechanic and having ALL BRANDS of A-10A model kits in my personal stock, this what I found in the Italeri kit, THE FLAWS, Cockpit has no detail, the gun is centered on the nose (Should be off set to the left), the weapons look like the old ESCI’s, engine fan is to close to the inlet, Main landing gear bays lacking detail, and the main landing gear sponcines are molded into the wing and the Chaff/Flare pods are cut in half, THE PLUSES, Recessed panel lines, ground refueling door has an option, Decellerons have options, options for the Post Desert Storm antennas
Here’s a great combo to make a very nice A-10A and it wont cost as much as the Italeri,
the Revell-O-Gram A-10A Kit ($15.00), True Details A-10A Cockpit Resin Set ($8.98), Shull24 A-10A Exterior Resin Update set ($8.00) and that comes to $31.98 compaired to the Italeri kit that starts out at $35.99 and there is where it’ll start (ON DETAILED COCKPIT is just a start) the only down fall is that you’ll need to rescribe the panel lines on the Revell-O-Gram kit but that’s not to hard to do it’ll just take time that’s all
