Italeri 1/48 Re2002 Ariete completed.

Finished work on the new Italeri kit over at the RA GB! Thought I would share it so you all could have a look.

Not quite on the level of a Tamgawa kit it goes together easy enough. Looking for a simple build all I added was a pilot figure.

The only thing that was really tricky was to get the decals not to silver on the Italian Olive dark color. That takes a bit of work. Other than that it was an enjoyable kit that looks good when done OOB. The decals are of great quality though just a lot of clear carrier on the Italian wing symbols which is unavoidable.

I paid $28 on pre-order for it and have been told it has been seen costing much more. Even reboxed by Tamiya with a pilot figure and oil barrels added to double the price. The Manual included is awesome 47 pages with any detail you would want and schematics on every system. A super detailers dream but know that there is no PE or resin or spectacular parts count to justify to high a price tag in my eyes. Shop around.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice… and a very interesting subject! [tup]

47 page manual with everything included and schematics!? [:O] Worth the coin right there!

One question though. Is it me or do all Italian aircraft (of that era) have the same canopy and fairing behind it?

Again, very cool plane!

The whole pits are very close to each other truthfully. Especially that odd seat with the chains and suspended leather back. Over at the RA GB I did learn though that they were not always that pale gray green interior color. Like in the USA the color could vary by manufacturer. Guy and Soul Crushers are working on the Special Hobby and CA G-55 and it has a yellowish zinc chromate interior. [yuck] But seems that is how it was.

Aaron, great looking build!

Nicely done on this one Mac! You are turning into a regular RA aficionado. [^]
