Italeri 1/35 Schnellboot tips and suggestions please

Hello Everyone,

After a long hiatus from model building( kids, wife, dog, etc) I saw this kit that just made me want to jump back into the hobby. I built that Revell kit way back when and thought " Wow a big brute of a model like that would be awesome". Needless to say I bought the kit and now I am thinking "what now?

I have read some of the reviews and noticed that the kit is not wholly accurate( port holes over the engine bay, armor plating around bridge) Any thoughts or ideas on the kit would be appreciated. I would like to make the model historically accurate if possible. Thanks for reading

Welcome aboard,

If you are into rivet counting this is a great thread with a mine of information:

Cheers and happy building,

I might suggest getting a copy of SCHNELLBOOT IN ACTION, sir. That might be a good place to start.

Hello Julian,

Nice job on your S-boat. Very good weathering. I may have to get your advice for that part of the build. As for myself-not really into rivet counting. I will try the cammett mines, armored bridge and possibly the gun shield for the flak gun, but am not planning on going overboard ( pardon the pun) on being totally correct. Thanks for the pics/links. Cheers

Scott
