Is this the most expensive 1:72nd scale kit available?

Possibly - I thought that the Anigrand 1/72 C-5 Galaxy was a bridge too far…

Although I still want one!

Maybe…

OUCH, that is crazy

Yikes for that kind of money it should build itself!

Whats that...like 680 bucks US? I could buy every kit that I want out there, twice, for the price of that kit. BTW, the aircraft itself doesnt appeal to me…kinda ugly IMO…

Probably need to pick up a couple for the stash while they’re still in stock. Hate to think what they’ll be when they end up on Ebay…

Mark

Picking a couple up?? WOW! Must be nice to be rich! [:D]

That’s a joke, right?

Maybe… [;)]

Whilst the subject matter does not interest me, I’d like to know what sort of detail you get for that price, and how well it fits together.

So…anybody snapped and bought one yet? [^o)]

Chris.

Geez, and not even a sexy subject…I mean, its not like, “hey, gang, they finally are releasing a Bristol Brabazon in 1:72!!!”

Yeah, but it’s only £4.86 in scale (think dog years). They’re crazy! For this kind of money, it should have this kind of detail.

…and it should fly.

…anything can fly with the right application of force…

Guys, Bsyamato had a post a month or two ago about A-Model kits. They’re decent quality limited run kits, I have one in my stash. Detail is fairly good but not great. I’d figure fit is probably about normal for a limited run kit. That is if you’ve built a kit by Classic Airframes, Czech Model, or other limited run company you know what you’re in for. They’re nice kits, and of subjects you’d never find in a regular run kit, but it takes quite a bit of elbow grease to finish one. Despite the price you’re not going to get Tamigawa quality fit- most Lindberg kits fit better than limited run kits.

I suppose if you MUST have a Brabazon I it’s a deal but I think I’ll pass.

So, what is the most (and least) you have paid for a kit then?

I paid £80 for a Planet Models Avro Manchester in 1:72nd. That hurt but it’s the only model of the type I could find. It’s a nice kit. Wouldn’t call it perfect and it’s taking a lot of effort to build (building now). But it will look nice alongside my Frog Whitley

At the other end of the scale I paid £2 for an Academy 1:72nd scale P40.

The most? Tamiya’s 1/48 Storch for $55cdn iirc. (But a portion of that was gift certificate!)

The least? I found a batch of 1/72 older Heller & Airfix kits second-hand. Very good condition & odd little kits that I can have fun with, $7 or $8 each.

Most - £60ish for a Trump. Tu-160 1/72 & that was a good deal on Ebay.

Least - 69p or thereabout’s for a Matchbox 1/72 prop fighter when I was a kid (spit, 109 or something).

Most I’ve paid was about $110 for a 1/350 USS Lexington, the least about $2 for the 1/2000 scale version of this carrier
