It’s a matter of relative interests. I’m 48 this year, and grew up watching Warner Brothers Looney Tunes and Jonny Quest. Modern / current-day animation seemingly caters to the lowest common denominator, and leaves me extremely underwhelmed in terms of art quality and storylines, so, I bypass it entirely.
When it comes to actually building and finishing a model, do what you enjoy and ignore the opinions of others!
Concerning your idea, there a several toy figures of Stormtrooper type play figures than are very close to 1/32 scale, and they can be cheaply had via Ebay or toy stores. Go for it!

A few years ago there was a whole line of Simpson’s characters in assorted SW and Indy costumes so this isn’t much of a stretch.
But what if I’d like to see Bugs and Elmer arguing about who’s a rabbit and what the season is?[;)]
