Is Airacobra in the house?

There is now !

I finished my 1/48 Eduard ProfiPack Bell P-39 Airacobra this evening, and here are the pics. I used Aeromaster decals, and built the kit as an “N” model. I added a couple buttons to the control stick, along with the oxygen gear. Everything else is from the box. I used Model Master enamel O.D., and Color of Eagles acrylic Neutral Gray for the camo. I used Color of Eagles RLM 04 for the spinner & tail tip. The cockpit is Humbrol Bronze Green, and the wheel wells and gear cover interiors are Aeromaster acrylic Interior Yellow. I used 2lb. fishing line for the antenna.

Thanks for letting me share this VERY fun build with you !

Sorry about all the pics, but this was one photogenic little bird !

very nice lookin’ build Pix!! and what a hottie on that door friend!!LOL later.

I just won that kit on E-bay and am waiting to arrive in the mail. I totally agree that it is one photogenic little bird. Excellent job, I can never get too many pictures of that '39! Thanks for sharing.

I really love the side view of that bird-- there is no better looking tricycle type out there imho…I used the term slick before Pix and it still applies! Thanks for sharing it!!

Enough to bring a tear to a grown man’s eye. She’s great Pix, I absolutely have to get that kit.

Pix, I’m beginning to think you were put here to make me feel inadequate. Another stellar build, and you are more prolific than a crazed rabbit. I love that a/c type, yet have never built a P-39 or P-63, so it’s time, but it takes me six months of looking at pictures, and three of gathering parts and paints, three more to think about it, and another six months to build. Which is why I only have about a dozen kits from the last three years in my apartment (I also abandon a lot of builds, to my shame).
And, I’m really glad to see you endorsement of Color of Eagles paint, because since I just discovered it, I can’t wait to get hold of more. I’ve run through two bottles each of the orange/yellow and the tire gray/black in only three months, a veritable torrent of paint for me. The stuff is great, just like your latest build.

Oops, didn’t see that booboo til Sat.

Great job on the build, and thank you for sharing your in-progress updates and the final results with us!

Hey Pix,
Once again, your 39 turned out AWESOME… Over all appearance is very striking…!!
I am not just saying that b/c the Airacobra is one of my favs either. What did you use for your wash?? Its very subtle but it works out nicely.
One thing though and please dont take it the wrong way, w/ all the photos I have of the 39, I have never really seen one w/ both doors open even at the factory level.
As always I look forward to seeing your builds. You done the cobra proudly[:p][;)]
Flaps up, Mike

That is one seriously sharp build, Pix!
A great job on a great-looking plane!

But I have to ask you one question: what is this word, “finished?” I seem to vaguely recall what it means, but since I haven’t had the opportunity to use that word in so long, the meaning of it escapes me…[;)]
