iOS App for FSM Forum

All -

I’ve been looking to see if I can find a better experience to peruse the forum in the evenings, when I have a lap cat and don’t want to get up to head to the computer. Discourse has a mobile app, but it took me a minute to figure out, so I thought I’d post here for others.

The iOS app is called “Discourse Hub” and is published by Discourse. Once installed, I couldn’t find the forum doing a search, but then I realized you can enter the direct URL, “forum.finescale.com” and it will pop up. Hit the “+” and it’s on the home screen. I assume the experience is similar on Android, but I leave that to y’all that are on Android!

I understand that most of you probably figured this out months ago, but I’m slow and wanted to help pull the other slow folks along.

You’ve pulled this slowpoke in. Definitely will be checking this out. Thank you.

Thanks for that, I never thought about looking for an app.

Thank you for this. Downloaded on iPhone and iPad…

Can anyone who has downloaded this give us a screenshot? Curious as to the differences between the app and the website.

So far, from what I can tell, there is zero difference. I was hoping the app would resolve my inability to highlight text for a quote, but that is not the case.
In a nutshell, it’s just a different avenue to get to the same destination.

Hope I’m wrong and hope this helps,

Mark

Thank you, Mark. Might pass on this then, I think I have too many apps on my phone as is.

I don’t have a device to search the Google App Store, but I’d suggest you look for something from Discourse, the software provider for this forum.

I will sort of echo Mark here - I use the app on my phone and find it easier to navigate than in a web browser. The font is slightly larger, too, so the posts are easier to read. In general, it looks much the same as the browser experience, but on a tiny screen, I prefer the app.
