Can anyone help me with the interior colors of the Puma? The best I can figure out is the walls are ivory and the deck is a green gray. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since there are no SdKfz 234/2 left in existence and very few war-time photos to begin with, this is a rather gray area. The use of Gray-Green on the floors was discontinued in late 1942, before the 234/2 went into production. However, stock-piled parts, like transmissions, turret motors and other large items, could still be found in this color. Most likely the floor, ammo racks, pedals, etc, would be left in Red Oxide Primer. Gun sights, elevation/traverse wheels, vision block housings, knobs, levers, steering wheels, or most any small, functional item of importance, would be painted black. Elfenbein or ivory, would be used for the interior walls, up until Sept. of 1944, then all the interior would be left in Red Oxide Primer. At the very end of 1944, the use of Elfenbein was reinstated. But since production of the 234/2 ended in Sept of 1944, this may not be an issue, sorry, but I don’t have the exact dates.
Here is a tweak-sheet for the Italeri kit;

So tell me, would the same interior thoughts aply to the 234/4? I’m working on the Dragon kit and have been wondering about the interior.
Also, is there a photo-etched set of parts I could get from someplace for the Dragon kit? Or other aftermarket stuff to enhance the realism?
Thanks.

The cut-away color plate of the SdKfz 234/4 in Osprey’s German Armoured Cars and Reconnaissance Half-tracks 1939-45 shows an entirely Red Oxide Primer interior below the main gun and it’s mount, which is in Dunkelgelb. Interior B/W photos of the Panzermuseum Munster vehicle show a dark color, most likely Red Oxide Primer, (page 30, Puma and Other German Heavy Rec. Vehicles.) It appears to have been repainted when I saw it 2 months ago, as all I could see was Dunkelgelb in what little I could see of the interior.
Voyager has released PE sets for the DML kits. Check them out at your local or online hobby shop.
“Is there any aftermarket?” There’s aftermarket for almost every kit, especially the current releases.
