Interior of a Dingo?

Do any of you happen to know what color the interior of a British Dingo scout car( the tamiya kit) that I plan to paint in European colors, would be? Also, the kit comes with a roof set and says the roof was not widely used. If I used the roof, would the kit look very odd?
As always, thanks for your generous help.

I put the roof on mine but had it half open, looked good!

It was mainly when used in North Africa when the roof wasn’t used.

That pic you posted is nice.I guess the floor was bare metal and the walls the same color as the outside? That site has good pics too. Thanks

scer 16. The Daimler floor was painted the same colour as the rest of the vehicle was. Usually SCC15 Olive Drab and sometimes with the black ‘Mickey Mouse Camo’ pattern outside. Be careful using restored vehicles for references as they are sometimes not correct.

The British used the Dingo’s extensively in all theatres of WW2 and also during the Malaysian conflict of the 1950’s. The roof was unpopular, so the later Mk 2’s and all Mk3’s had a canvas roof instead.

If you are building the Tamiya kit and want to detail it a bit, (and it could use some detail) check out this site for great pics of the Mk2:

and also the Mk 1 which was not much different other than 4 wheel steer here:

I think if you look in the interior of a Dingo, you may very well find Lindy Chamberlain’s baby.

(Sorry, horrible joke.)
