Hello all. I am not a regular here, so I may have this in the incorrect spot. Forgive my ignorance.
I just inherited a decent amount of military models and parts from a friend who switched to 1/6 scale. There are some complete kits here, but on some I can’t be sure, as he lost the instructions in one of his many moves. Is there a site that I just haven’t found that collects military 1/35 scale instructions that you can download? I have found one for model cars, but nothing like it for military kits. The instructions that I need are for the Tamiya M8 Greyhound, Kirin SD.KFZ 138/1 AUSF H (140), and the Academy M113 Zelda IDF. Scans or copies would be just fine.
I also need some parts that I can see are missing on the Greyhound kit: the wheels. And 2 inner and 2 outer roadwheels and the machine gun “mantlet” for the hull for the Dragon Panzer III/Stug. The kit instructions tell me it is kit # 9040, but I didn’t get the box for it, it came in a Stug box. I’ve looked for resin roadwheels, but I haven’t been able to find any.
I don’t have much to trade, if at anything at all, so I would be willing to pay for any of this if anyone has spare parts. I know for sure I have a Tamiya Leopard II kit missing its hull for parts, and a 1/32 Fiesler Storch 1/2 built that is missing the bottom front cowling, if anyone wants to trade for those. I have no idea who made the Storch. I also have lots of M1 Abrams parts, including a mostly built, incomplete one. If you want to know what is missing on any of these, I would need copies of these instructions as well. Right now, they are just a big mass of parts to me, that may be sold as a junkyard, since I won’t build ALL of these things, and won’t need the parts.
Thanks for the links. I was able to find some instructions I need that I hadn’t mentioned, but I couldn’t find the ones I mentioned above.
Now that I have the instructions for the Storch, I can figure out its completeness, as soon as I get out of the field.
The wheels for the Greyhound will be nice. Probably better than the ones in the kit, too. I just have to find the instructions for it, to make sure that it is complete. Otherwise, why buy the wheels and start the disassembly?
I think I have all 3 kits (instructions) that you are looking for. I’m at work right now, but I’ll check tonight at home and get back to you tomorrow. If I have them I’ll scan and send them to you.
I definatly have the M8 instructions. I never throw instructions away. Maybe it is a obsesive compulsive Disorder [:P] I believe I even have the wheels as I replaced mine with aftermarket wheels with chains. Drop me a line at mnrdunck@gmail.com There should be a Form for trading missing parts and unwanted kits. Woulda you think?
I can wait, I have other kits to keep me busy. I don’t need the Greyhound instructions, because I found them in the mess, but there is more missing than I thought, and some of the stuff that IS there is broken. I didn’t realize it without the instructions. I look forward to getting the other instructions from you when you get a chance. Thanks!
