I am trying to build Revell’s 1/72 scale model of a Sr-71 Backbird but I don’t understand the symbols in the instructions. One that appears several times is a circle with two arrows pointing away from each other. What do they mean? I probably sound like an idiot but I really could use some help.
I’ve built Revell’s 1/72 scale Sr-71 Blackbird , a nice kit that went together quite well . The circles with two arrow’s , simple means cut off [carefully] the little lugs on the edges of each part .
HTH , Kind regards John
Thanks. I had a hunch that was what they meant but I just wanted to make sure.
Isnt there a key that shows what the symbols are in most kits? I know not all of have it but I just couldnt help wonder if that kit has it on the instruction sheet.
There should be a legend in the instructions.
Realize that the main intent of the Symbols…
is for the builder to mistakenly overlook them, and find out for the worse, much later.

I feel your pain. I just finished my 3rd aircraft model, with PE, and all the symbols are confusing. Even with a key explaining each, I still had uncertainty.
