Inspiration and Tribute

I mentioned my uncle in my introduction post (New member to the forum) who is truly the source of my inspiration for ship modeling. My goal is to one day have the skill to emulate his accomplishments with a build worthy of a display case and possibly a show award as he often achieved. I am fortunate to have two of his models now in my possession as family heirlooms, displayed in pride of place in the library. Finding his modeling journal from his early years of modeling was a wonderful discovery! A couple photos follow of models he built dating to just before and then after WWII. Enjoy.

Very cool to have written documentation of his work.

That’s some beautiful work — the attention to rigging and weathering really brings it to life.

I’m a modeler and CAD designer myself, mostly focused on precision work in vehicles and ships. I really appreciate clean craftsmanship like this.

I’m fairly new here and always looking to connect with builders who enjoy pushing detail and historical accuracy. Feel free to reach out — happy to share ideas or collaborate on builds.
