What overall shape issues does this kit have?
Short question, hopefully a short answer, but I guess not[sigh]
It’s been a while since I built mine, but IIRC it looks like a G-6, has the panel lines in the right places and the bumps weren’t ridiculously oversized nor nearly hidden. I seem to remember it went together well also.

Thanks for the answer. The idea was to frankenstein two models together and I need to choose the ‘‘main’’ model. Cant wait to start chop em up[:-,]
From what I recall of building one, the biggest issue for me was sanding out the fictitious structural details in the main gear wells.
I sanded them out and replaced them with some Eduard PE and it looked OK.
Propeller boss is incorrect shape, too blunt.
Wheels are awful, looks like they came off a John Deere.
I believe some of the panel lines are incorrect, but it’s been a while since I looked at one.
The aforementioned problems with the wheel wells.
Supercharger intake is incorrect shape.
FineMolds is the class of the field for the 1/72 Bf 109G-6 by a long margin, Academy is fairly good with Hasegawa being just a bit behind. The Italeri kit will vaguely resemble a 109G-6 with some work but to me it’s not worth the trouble.
Hmmm… I will consider those points when I build this thing. The complete model is supposed to be a G-14. Some parts will be from a Revell G-10 (wing, rear airframe, wheels e.t.c) the only thing I really need from the Italeri kit is the front airframe, wing bulges, propeller and a few other stuff.
To me it looks like most of the problems will be solved by the revell kit.

If you’re doing a G-14, for about $8 the Academy is a pretty nice kit and will go together with no issues. Unless you’re really looking for a challenge that’s the way I’d go.

I thought I would join the 109 group build but I don’t think I will make it in time (an Italian fighter is also waiting to be completed)
