In search of a Eduard Dietl 1/10 bust, and my solution.

In february 2018, I read two books (in German) about the German Gebirgsjägers and Generaloberst Eduard Dietl.
A few months later, via the “PlanetFigure” forum, I found a bust of “Papa” Julius Alfred Ringel, since I was looking for a bust of Eduard Dietl, I also tried to contact the man who had made the bust, but never got an answer.

The only thing I found out was that this bust was taken into production - in 2014 - by Mitches Military Models.
Unfortunately, this was no longer in production for several years and the mold was no longer their property.

When I was 12 years (in the seventies) I did modeling, in scale of 1/35. I lived in Lier in Belgium, the city where François Verlinden (Verlinden Productions) had his toy store and later also started his factory for resin figures.
In the eighties he moved to the USA and started Verlinden Productions, I learned a lot from François Verlinden.
Later, after studying Industrial Chemistry, I also studied History, I was particularly interested in WWI and WWII and the American Civil War.

When my youngest son became interested in modeling (early 2000) I also started again. In recent years, I mainly work on 1/10 and 1/9 scale busts and 120mm figures.

I also foud pictures of a 1/6 scale Eduard Dietl, tried to contact the owner but also here there was no reply.

So I made a bust (without head) of the Generaloberst with leftovers of other figures.
I tried to make the head but this was not my cup of tea, I contacted Scale75 and they were prepared to make the head of Eduard Dietl in 1/10 scale.
And finally this week I received pictures of the head, one of the following days I will receive the mold and already some heads via Scale75 of this General with the Gebirgsjägers.
And then it will be painting and assembling time.

Great story…but, alas, I see no pictures. [:^)]

I know, but somehow I can´t add the pictures. I have them on my desktop but can´t add them to the forum, maybe you can help me?

Very happy to help.

Unfortunately, you can’t just put images into a post directly from your computer (or phone, as the case may be); they first have to be hosted on an external site…then the links inserted into your post.

There are a bunch of hosting sites, some for a fee, some for free. I use Flickr (which is free…because I am cheap…) and have been pretty happy with it, but you can find the pros and cons of various ones by searching ‘photo hosting’ or similar terms right here in the Forums.

Can’t give you any more technical info right off…since each hosting site works a little differently. But if you have specific questions, post them in the ‘Technical’ section of the forum, and I’ll bet you’ll get all the help you need. (It’s a patient and supportive community here.)

Welcome aboard…and I look forward to seeing your work! [:D]
