I first applied several thin coats of Future and washed it with a combination of Black and Burnt Umber artist oils. I have just finished applying Micro-Sol, to set the decals in the panel lines (they have a silverish look yet)
Once dry, I am going to shoot another coat of Future to seal them, Dull Coat, then finish the weathering process (drybrushing and pastel chalks) I am waiting on a shipment to come in with Micro Mask, so I can airbrush the canopy.
I have been trying out some new techniques on this one, before venturing on to my big project ( Hasegawa’s 1/32 P-51D) So, that makes this a test build.
nice!!![8D][8D][8D]
thanks for posting the pic; beats me though how 4 people have come along before me and not said the same thing…indeed not said anything!![:(!]

I haven’t built Aircraft in quite a while. So, I was saying in the post above, this started out as more or less a test with techniques. But, the further along it went, the better it was looking.
I now have to get over the huge, masking the canopy hurdle. Does anyone have tips on using Micro Mask? More specifically, should I dip the canopy in Future after it’s been completely painted or before? Anyone know if the Mask would react badly, going over a coat of Future?
I would really hate to mess this up now, with a shoddy canopy job.
Not sure about MicroMask, but I have found that when I dip the canopy in Future first and run into the occasional color bleed under my mask, that a toothpick doesn’t seem to lift off the paint at all…almost as if it adheres better. So now I clean the canopy, mask and paint, and then do the dip…
