As you know, I am new to this. I actually haven’t even started my first model yet, but I have 6 kits in the waiting (thank you, ModelCrazy [:D] )
I’m back into artsy-fartsy mode and in deperate need of some sprue for a small mixed media project (yes, it’s for a gift). I could use a couple of handfuls or a sandwich sized zip bag. I’m in the Frisco, Texas area. I know everyone is crazy busy - a porch pick up would be wonderful! Please message me with details…
That’s interesting, and a bit of a coincidence. There’s another forum member here, captfue is his handle, who uses sprues to make blanks for sculpting into figures. He melts the plastic in an old pan, till it’s just soft enough to mash together and make blanks. You should search the forum; you can find his build threads and see the figures he sculpts.
In a pinch, you could also take some sprue from the models you’ve got waiting… As long as you go for the long straight parts it shouldn’t do no harm… As soon as you finish your second or third model, you will have too much of this stuff, anyway.
How far from New Braunfels is Frisco? The reason I ask. I have lots of sprue. I use it for making Sprue glue and I get it from two sources, Model train Stuff and Regular model stuff!
