In a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Some workbench shots of the Badai kits I built a couple of years ago.

Never go wrong with Star Wars. Cool collection.

Nice weathering job!

Very well done on all of them. And I agree, I really like the weathering.

ILM Lives!!! Those all look great!

Wish I could weather as well. [Y]

The Tie fighter is just weathered enough to bring out detail and make it look at least used. You know there had to be some Death Star ground crew sergeant that isn’t going to allow it to be really dirty. Although being Imperial troops you just know they are going to miss a spot!

The Rebel craft of course are gonna look a little worse for wear since there is likely quite a Turtle Wax shortage on Hoth.

It isn’t difficult. The only weathering medium I used on these was Future (Pledge) floor wax tinted with some black craft acrylic paint. No other products were used at all.

Just brush the Future on and the self-leveling properties will draw it into and crevasse and around raised detail. If you want to remove some then just dampen a tissue with the clear polish and wipe it where you want “cleaner”. It will look horrible at first since the gloss makes it stand out but after a coat or two of Dullcoat the results are more subtle.

The only difference between these two is the addition of the decals and a coat of tinted Future.

The progression looks like this:

Base coat (figures already tint coated)

Glossy tinted coat brushed liberally over whole model (no separate pinwashs)

Dull coat to subdue effect

Those look amazing!!! Great job, thanks for sharing with us!

Esp love the snow speeder, one of my favorite SW craft.
