Welcome to the forum. What you are showing is already amazing. I’m on the edge of my seat to see where this goes. That was my favourite destroid of all back then. I still have a die-cast/plastic toy in storage somewhere.:grin::grin:

Hey Simon! You’re the GBWC 2023 champ right? You probably don’t remember me, but I was the U20 USA rep that year! I love your work a lot! That scratch build was incredible to see!

The kit is looking amazing! Can’t wait to see the rest of the build. Anyways, welcome to the forum!

PS. I moved your thread to the Gundam/Mecha category.

Yap, that is me indeed, thx for the support, much appreciated.

Yeah since gbwc 23, ive been enjoying a much needed break to go and work on projects just for my own interest and not particularly aimmed for any competition.

Im having a blast restoring old old kits from the 70s and 80s just to bring them up to todays standard.

Simon, that leg looks perfect. The panel lines, details, colors and markings have a perfect balance. I look forward to seeing the full build!

Welcome to the forum @Simon_Lam!
That is looking awesome. I have the same kit (Bandai boxing) in my stash and am quite interested in seeing how you modernize it!

thats the level of freedom u can get when you simply ditch all decals and freehand everything manually

I makes me want to tear apart my Arii 1/160 kit and do a full makeover.

I built it in the mid-1980s so it is no longer looking its best. I was hoping Wave would do a new kit in 1/144 scale, but they seemed to have shelved that project unfortunately.
