gotcha, i’ll keep using this thread then, thx for letting me know

I also agree about keeping this thread going. Your “metallic” work is so realistic looking.

The weathering that you have done on, this is absolutely stunning. All the recessed and raised detail is highlighted nicely. Did you dry brush something to get the lighter effect on the edges?

If you want, it’s easy enough for us to combine this thread with the original. Let me know if you want to. Nothing will be lost and all of the posts will just stock together.

Simon, this is looking great. Can’t wait to see where you’re going with it.

Already absolutely stunning.

Your attention to detail on this is fantastic and really brings it to life. I can’t wait to see it all done.

@Simon_Lam,
The Monster didn’t have hands. Am I correct in assuming you scratch built those massive arms and hands for it? It looks amazing btw.

I think he’s basing it off the Mk-IP monster which showed up Macross zero for a little. I don’t think there’s a kit for that specific variant?

It’s looking awesome Simon! The weathering, metallics, and dry brushing you’ve done is amazing.

Man, I love this beast! It is looking great. One day I will bite the bullet when it becomes available.

I applied some commonly used minature approach like edge highlighting using s flat paint brush on the edges and trims

If u can combine them thst would be awesome

That is correcr, both arms are scratched from styrene sheets and all the joints are replaced to give some sort of articulation including the cannons

Here, the main kit is done until i have the time to give it a properly done base and photoshoot

@Simon_Lam, stunning completion. You’d never know it was a kit from the 80s.
Impressive painting and scratch building skills. Still can’t get over how you hand painted all the markings.
Out of curiousity, do you have any in progress shots of the work you did to build that hand? I’d love to know more about how you accomplished that.

Fantastic finish on it. I was also looking at the mods you made and ran across a rendering of it with a hand. Not sure how canon it is to the Macross universe, but it sure changes the look.

What I remember was this…

This exact drawing is my only reference point to create the hand, this version is Mark I, that only showed up in the last episode of Macross Zero, all the othet ones are Mark II
