Sorry I’ve been out of touch for a while. Just too many things going on at once. But I’m back now, and I was able to resume building a few days ago.
I’m pretty far behind, and have a number of projects on the bench from months back. I’ve got a Tiger I, an SdKfz 11, a Jagdpanther, a Kfz 15 Horch (the old Italeri kit), an SdKfz 7, an Australian Grant in N. Africa, an abandoned SdKfz 251 C, an SdKfz 251 D engineer vehicle, and a Pz IV recovery vehicle all on the bench in various stages of completion. Most of them have been sitting on the bench for some time.
I’ve missed the end of a bunch of GBs, but I should have a lot of completed work to show off in the near future.
jthurston: I was wondering where the heck you went, [#welcome] back!..How are those Astros doing? My Cubbies have held first for a long time now, although I do need to check to see where they are after the break…
Doog & NucMedTech, thanks, and it certainly does look like I’m gonna be busy for a while.
SMJModeler, my Stros ain’t doing so good. Last place in the division right now, although I’m heartened by the good showing we had at the All-Star game. Both Berkman and Tejada contributed well. Also, they’re well-known as a second-half team, so there’s hope yet.
George II, thanks, and welcome to the forum. This is probably the best place on the net for all things in scale.
Hey all, thanks so much for all the welcome-backs!!! It’s a great thing, to be involved in a hobby that’s so full of wonderful and friendly people.
OK, nothing life-threatening or anything like that. I’ve just been so occupado lately with various stuff that I didn’t have much time to build. I did try once or twice to sit at the bench and start putting pieces together, but then the demands of everyday life pulled me away again.
So I’m back to my old build schedule, basically at least one hour a day, usually more.
I’m a little concerned that I left something like 6 GBs unfinished, though [sigh]
…Anyway, the first thing to complete is the Aussie Grant, and then the SdKfz11.
Yes we do Wingy! Look back in your FSM reader gallery’s from late last year (November or December, I think?) and you’ll see a particularly sweet Pz.III by a certain JThurston, armor forum member. [:D][tup]
I thought the armor forum seemed to be missing something lately!![swg] Glad to see you back jthurston!! Don’t worry too much about all those unfinished kits…I’m in the same boat as you and I wasn’t even gone!! [sigh] There was a little discussion in one of the other threads about starting an “unfinished builds” GB!! With my 7, your 9 and hermesminiatures 11 (I think) we might be off to a good start!! “Git her done!”
Now that my head has stopped spinning due to your in progress list welcome back JT. Kinda was missing you trademark Bwaaaaaaaa[(-D].
I used to live in Clear Lake many moon’s ago and the company my father worked for had season tickets for the Astro’s and Oiler’s(remember them) and I was fortunate to get to see Nolan Rayn pitch.
Clear Lake is a nice place, at least it used to be (I haven’t been there in a while, but it was nice when I saw it last). Used to go down there and eat at Frenchy’s near Nasa. Little Italian place where all the astronauts hang out.
Now, we don’t get to as many games as we used to, but we still go to as many as we can through the season. It’s been pointed out to me that my avatar is Brad Lidge, so I guess I should change that now that he’s a Phillie.
I love the idea of an unfinished build GB, as most of my unfinished builds are from GBs that wrapped up while I was out.
