assuming you have verybasic basic tools i would get the precision sprue cutter and a scalpel from UMM-USA plus some beauty supply sanding strips. the precision sprue cutter gets in anywhere, is great for detaching really thin pirces like railings and i use mine to remove pe from trees as well. the scalpel blade is flat enough yet firm enough to pry glued halves apart w/o damage and can shave nubs resulting in less sanding.
i save my used filing strips. as they get old they get less gritty so actually become finer than when first used. sand down some primed area and they can get quite fine.
