I was getting ready to start the ICM OV-10A Bronco last night. This is my second attempt at the OV-10A. My first attempt was the Testors kit that I bought like 20 years ago. It was damaged in a fire in our office so I got the ICM kit.
This is the aircraft my dad flew in the Vietnam War.
I was going through the kit to make sure everything was there. When I noticed something odd about the decals. They sent me the decal sheets for kits 48230 (JU 88A-8 and 48406 US Armament. (For some reason I can’t post the picture??)
I contacted ICM and they’re sending me the correct decal sheets. So, this is on hold until the correct sheets arrive.

There was an awesome OV-10 build on here some years ago IIRC.
Chuk_w maybe.
Best way to search is your browser, not this site search.
Post photos on a third party site like Imgur, forking or post image.
Copy link here and it shows up as a picture link.

You cannot, on this site, drag-and-drop images.
They have to be externally hosted on some online server (and Kalmbach has to have granted them permission, too o_O)
Caracal 48230 comes up as:

So, yes, that would not help a Bronco build.
There are several Caracal 1/48 sheets, like this one:

Bill. I’m pretty sure it was the OV-1 that Chuck did.
CapnMac82.
Thanks, I figurd out that I need an image host.
It is the “ICM” decal sheets. ICM is sending me the correct sheets since I had just recently purchased the model. They’re based in Kiev so I wonder how they’re still doing business with all that going on over there. However, they’re doing it, they have great customer service.
Below is my manual with the decal sheets that were included. I put this one back until I get the new sheets and am working on a Tamiya P-51B Mustang.

I just realized I never posted pics of my build with this model. My dad flew the OV-10A in the Vietnam war. This build is to honor him. He passed away in Jan 2022 at the age of 92.
I have 20 hours in the cockpit alone. I was working a a diorama but then got side tracked with some other stuff, so it’s not finished.

You’ve got a good start there, it looks great.

I love the personal connection you’ve got with this build, @fxsti03-42. It looks great as-is, particularly that cockpit. Thanks for the update!
What are your plans for the base/diorama?

I was just going to do a tarmac with a little bit of edge dirt, etc. Nothing major. I’ve only done one other base for a model, it didn’t turn out well. So, just going simple.

I was trying something different on the tarmac and it didn’t turn out well. I need to sand it down, but haven’t had time do to other “projects” I have to do around the house.
The Bronco is looking great! and that cockpit is sharp! Good luck with the base.
Just found this and will be going through this thread tonight Mike. This is indeed looking good so far from what I can see in the pictures. Will be reading later on to catch up.

Outstanding work so far and what a great way to honor your father.

I put this project on hold as I was trying to make a base for it. But that got all screwed up. Then other life things happened.
I finished the actual model tonight. I was hesitant as this was one project that kept me close to my dad.
The model is done. But I still have work on the base to do so more to come.

Nice! As you may know, I’m working on a Bronco, too. It’s the old Testors kit. It’s not nearly as nice as the ICM offering. Your finished kit looks great! I’m looking forward to seeing it parked on a base. I’m sure that will really make the model stand out. Nice build, and a great way to honor your father.

This is my Testors version I did back in 2022. It got destroyed in a small house fire.

Sweet! Hey, I have a question for ya. Since you’ve built it, you’d be one to know. Looking at the gear bay doors, there are no attachment points. It looks like the doors just butt-joint to the fuselage. Is that how you did it? Have any good beta on how to attach the gear doors?
Thanks in advance,
-O

Yes. That was annoying. I put a line of glue on the edge of the gear door and held it in place till it was able to stand on its own.

I was afraid you’d say that. Still, thanks for the info. I’m sure, with enough glue, I can get 'em to stick.

Man that turned out pretty darn good Mike. Love the detail in the pit area and your paint and decal work are right on the mark.
I’m sure your dad would be very happy with the outcome you’ve got here buddy.
