Anyone have an opinion on these kits? Was looking into a Yak-9
It’s a great kit. I have built several ICM kits (including 3 Yak-9s) and can tell you that they have really nice levels of detail, general parts fit is good, plastic is a little on the soft side and they have lots of mold release agent on the trees so be sure to wash them well.
Agree with thumbs up.
Got the Stepanenko Yak-9 and really love it. Comes with a diorama set of three mechanics a table, oil barel, even a bucket!!! Nice decals too. Engine compartment given as well although detail work has to be carried out for it to show.
And cheap for the scale.
Thanks for the info!
I’ve built a couple. The Yak’s are their better kits.

I’ve heard the Yaks are great, their 1/48 Spitfire series are currently the best Spits on the market in my opinion. I’ve also heard their Petlyakov PE-2 is a good kit.
I’d stay away from their 1/72 MiG-31 Foxhound though. Its not really their kit, just a rebox of a kit made by another outfit called Condor and it is rough. Its hard to tell where some parts end and the flash begins.
I’ve built their MiG-3 and as was said above-- some of the parts are soft-- but overall it built up into a nice kit-- and the engine detail was pretty sweet!
I just completed thier I-16 type 24 and it was a nice build, plastic is soft but the fit was very nice. I have about a ten or more kits from them as well awaiting in the wings.
Ah no pun intended… [:D]
Cheers
