This is ICM’s brand new tooled Hudson, pretty good kit but not a “shake and bake” kit. The glass nose section is made up of 4 pieces, 2 of which are placed from inside, so care needs to be taken aligning it all up. As with a lot of ICM there are no rivet details. Great there is a new tooling of the Hudson and no doubt there will be many more variants along the way. This scheme is RNZAF. 2 Squadron 1942
Nicely done. Man those British turrets had a high profile.
Another nice clean build Grant. I like the mottling and the slight lustre of the paint job.
Fine build! A subject that did great service during the war.

Thanks for the kind words guys ![]()
I know virtually nothing about the Hudson, but that’s a really clean-looking build. It’s a good-looking aircraft in its own right too.
You mentioned the lack of rivet detail, but honestly, looking at the finished model I don’t find myself missing it at all. The surface detail and finish look very convincing to me.
Very nicely done!
That paint finish is absolutely top notch! Is there anything you’re doing differently to the usual sort of preshading and mottled layers?
Looks really good. I just got the same kit. Thanks for the heads up on the glazing. Any other problems with the kit?
I primed it with Mr Finishing surfacer 1500 black, Than using a piece of scourer, I sprayed white primer, (AK Primer/Microfiller white) through the scourer. This gives a random mottled pattern which breaks up the hue of the camo colours.
Dry fit the belly fuselage section and the tail section to the fuselage before gluing. You may get steps. I glued mine in sections, pulling them in where required to get a flush fit.
