Round these here parts…
just about the most dangerous thing to my models are:
1: 4 & 7 yo tornados saying: ‘daddy, what’s this for ?’
2: them nicking my sables & pro acrylics brushes. I keep everything lockup when they stay…
3: The cold, cold rain making it too cold to paint!
4: Annual Bronchitis, see 3 above,
Have fun y’all

Yikes, I dont blame ya, my roommate was bitten by brown recluse spider even tho we live in rochester, ny. those damn spider was mostly from the southern state and I dont know how those spider get to new york argh. You can get a spider trap which is similar with rat trap. it looks like a box with some kind of sticky stuff on top and bottom of the box and surely will trap the spiders.
as for snake, i dont know since we dont have it in western new york unless some idiots lost the snake as pet. lol suggest you to research to find ways to keep those snakes out of ur area or make a trench around ur shed and fill up with acid [}:)]
i was bitten about 15yrs ago by a br recluse here in mass. it left me wth what is now a permanant brown scar about the size of a dime
at the last job i had we got products from all over north america, lots of stuff from mexico. sometimes they came with mostly dead tarantulas a couple of times though they were still alive ,one of the guys took 2 of them home for pets ( nut job)
with all the moving around people do in this country they bring various little pests with them (kids and bugs)
Well, It’s been known that alligators have been seen in the sewers of NY, The rats are as big as terriers too. and If ya can drive a cab in NYC you can drive anywhere[:P]
just buy a .44 magnum i grew up in arizona and i read up on the things (rattlers) they are mostly nocturnal and will leave you alone if you leave them alone me and two friends caught and killed a seven and a half footer and cooked him on the grill (with some help from said friends dad) he was quite tasty (no they dont taste like chicken!) any way about the magnum if you shoot any where near their head they will strike at the bullet (dont ask me why but they do) something about that they can sense the bullet we took ours out with a pellet gun and a heavy rake (there wasnt much left of the head when we were done!) hope this helps dave p.s. i used to live in tonopah and show lowin the 70s and early 80s

Western New York is home to about 17 different species of snake and 3 that are venomous:)
While the venomous species are uncommon there, you can find the Timber Rattlesnake, The Eastern Massasauga(which a another pit viper and relative of the rattlesnake), and the Northern Copperhead. With medical attention, most bites from these are not fatal among healthy adults, but they should be avoided when possible regardless. I was bitten by a Copperhead when I was 15, and needed nothing more than minor medical attention.
Most snakes that you will see are harmless and many are beneficial like the kingsnake which can feed on poisonous species. I highly recommend to anyone to learn which species are in your area and more importantly learn how to tell which are poisonous.
As far as Smokingguns problem, the advice for a Kingsnake is a feasible option. Kingsnakes are not poisonous and harmeless even though a wild caught one will bite. As long as you clean the wound well and make sure your tetanus vaccines are up to date, you will be fine. They are public enemy number one for Pit vipers though, but the only problem is that if you release one and it does not find food, it will relocate and may not solve your problem.
Lime(lye powder) is very caustic and dangerous to all animals and humans. Lime under the shed and around it may keep him away, provided he is not making his home inside the shed itself. If he is, then he will just be more apt to stay inside as he will not go out and cross the lime. In truth, there is not a substance you can put around the shed that is not just as dangerous to you that will deter a snake.
The best advise I can give is make sure you educate yourself about the species of snakes around you. This will give you the knowledge you need to avoid them. Rattlesnakes are not aggressive by nature and will only strike in fear or defense. Understanding the species will help you understand how to make your shed less appealing. Place rodent traps to get rid of their food supply, and make sure to remove and piles of brush, cloth, or anything that could attact them. Also, if you have a heat source inside the shed, turn it off as it will only tempt him to stay put. Make sure to use something with a long reach to move any piles. His strike range is only about half his length, so something like a garden hoe would be a good choice.
The best choice by far is to call animal control and have them deal with it. Most towns will offer this service for free as long as human danger can be proven which in your case is easy. I used to volunteer for this type of program myself when I was in college and relocated many snakes. Most of them that were reported as poisonous species turned out to be harmless, but it never hurts to be safe.
Good luck and remember snakes are not evil, just misunderstood:)
I wasnt to concerned on trying to get pics i was more scared than worrying about that. As for a fire arm itsillegale to discarge a fir arm in the city limits evan though we live out in the boonies we are still conciderd in the city limits due to are zip code is an apache junction Zip.
A .22 works good to! You just wait for them to try to strike the barrel and blast 'em! Its hard, and pretty dangerous. A nice 12 ga. with some turkey shot should do the trick, maybe a bit overkill, but hey, if your gonna do it, you might as well have fun!!!
Sorry but I could not resist another absurd suggestion, How about a pet mongoose. I have no idea where you would get one or what kit of pet it would make but I do know they do hunt snakes!
Scary… you just read my mind Ed!!! I was thinking, Hey, I have one, full suspension, disc brake in the front… a very nice bike. It makes a pretty good pet to, keep it out of the rain and it will stay right where you put it, as long as its locked up that is[:D]
