I won a Wingy Thingy at the IMPS Contest--But I am a tank guy! Hase 1/32 P-47

I entered a local IPMS, and although I didn’t win any awards, I did win a nice Hasegawa 1/32 P-47 in the raffle. I always look over here to see if anything interesting is popping up, my former life as a modeler was a plane guy, dad was career AF.

I think I will build it, maybe not right away, but I want to build and enter it in the next contest.

The kit seems VERY nicely molded and detailed, it’s the one that has several Gabreski options, the decal sheet is as big as the box lid.

Anyway, please don’t tell those muddy guys, at least until it’s done.

Bill

Good on ya Bill. This is supposed to be a very sweet kit.

We are in the same boat. I guess I am now a bit more of an armor guy and I picked up and airliner in the raffle. Never would have bought this in a million years. But it looks pretty cool and will probably build it.

Maybe we should start a group build called “I won this in a raffle”

Its a VERY good kit. Good fit excelent detail. You cant go wrong as far as wingy things go. Give it a try. Also there are a gazzilion decals out for it…Harv

Your dirty little secret is safe over here Bill [:)]. Excellent score BTW, that’s a great kit.

Regards, Rick

Yeah, it’s not like we would post the news on an internet forum, or anything! [:D]

I once said if I ever saw a tank with wings I’d build one of those wingy things.

Then I saw this

So I built this(which I won in a raffle by the way)

So your secrets safe with me also[;)]

I like this idea. I have tons of kits I have won in raffles. Myself and two other club members are known as the local “plastic ho’s”. We always end up with stacks of kits from raffles. In 1 month, I won two airbrushed, a fifty dollar gift certificate to the LHS, 5books, and about 20-30 kits. The airbrushed were a Badger Velocity and an Iwata HP-CS.

Yeah, build the thing, suppose to be a good kit. You never know what those raffles will bring you. I won this kit at a raffle in Mosquitocon, probally never would have bought it, it’s a AA kit, kinda rough around the edges, not too much detail and bad fit, and I usually don’t build modern jets at the time. But I did some research, built it with a cool paint scheme, bought it ‘home’ to the next years show and it winds up in the pages of FSM. Go figure.

Okay Bill, either send me the kit or I’m rattin’ ya out! [:D] Seriously though, it is a great kit. Only problem is, if you build it, you may never go back to armor.
