I need help with cockpit building for the Revell BAe Hawk

The subject line says it all. I don’t find the forum search here very easy to use. I did try. Has anyone seen a build with detailed cockpit instruction? I just received the Revell of Germany 1/32 BAe Hawk kit and it has a couple cockpit decals. The kit is way above my expectations for a Revell kit. I’m trying to get above the paint everything zinc green, black, and dry brush the high spots silver level of build. I have read in a few build posts the use of solder for O2 hose and masking tape for seat belts, but I’m not sure how that is done with the tape. And I have never had decals for inst. panels. It looks like a tough job with all the rough detail on the panel. Lot’s of decal set solution??? This newby needs help.

Look through the FSM website, here is a link to a section on building including decaling.

Paul Boyer has done a number of articles on decaling, look through the magazine index for those. I have had good results with instrument panel decals settling down over raised detail but careful initial placement and lots of decal solvent (I use Microsol usually) are necessary. Try an extra decal from the sheet first on a test piece of plastic to see how your decals respond to heavy applications of solvent. They all respond differently, it seems.

Great! Thanks John.
