Hey guys I have seen a lot of great resource links on this web site, I have yet to see one on wikipedia, so I thought I’d add it. If you are interested in the history of your model or just visit for the pictures its a valuable resource in my opinion. I know there are a lot of P-51 model builders out there so here is a link to their P-51 page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-51 by the way the photo of the guys loading the .50 cal ammo is awesome. Just thought I’d pass it on.
Here is their home page just type in the plane you building or interested in

thanks C-130! I don’t use wikipedia that much because anyone can edit it and that can lead to false info
I agree wikipedia is very good for general info. However, I tend not to trust it for specific military hardware since the info is often inaccurate, and as jin mentioned, can be edited by anyone.
With a quick glance at wikipedia I dont think I would trust its information. Seems like a crazy idea letting anyone edit an article. Just for fun I clicked on edit and It was going to let me change the performace info for the p 51? (I didnt change anything) I dont see how this is a good idea? Just my opinion though.
I would like to believe that the people who contribute to the pages with real information would outnumber the vandals that would try to screw with it. just the other day I looked up Rob Dyrdek(rob and big) and it had a whole article on him, i tried to show my brother the article later and it had been deleted and replaced with two or three very duragatory sentances about Rob Dyrdek. within a couple of hours I checked again and it had been corrected back to its original form. so while i would agree that it can be false info, I also belive that it is policed better than we all assume.
Yeah from my experiences the moderators or whatever they are called do a pretty good job of policing it. I don’t know if they have people reviewing additions or what, but whenever I’ve had to use it, the info is generally backed up by other sites/sources
Wikipedia is a terrific place to begin research, but not to finish it.
It’s strength most certainly is the sheer volume of free information,
not the accuracy. You get what’s ya pays for
Altough anyone can edit in the wikipedia the accuracy is, generally speaking, good. The Wikipedia has a active community that quickly filters out vandalisme and incorrect information.
Beeing a contiunous “work in progress” means that it has it’s quircks
