I just could not resist anymore..! (with pics, now!)

I had to have one, so I eventually parted with £10 to get my Italeri Savoia-Marchetti SM-79…

I had some great recollections of the older, much older Airfix kit and there are some very interesting schemes for this airplane. I’ve only heard good things about this new kit and upon opening the box, I have to say I’m rather impressed… More tonight when I’ve had a better look at it. Watch this space…

To be honest, I’ve never been a real big WW2 aircraft buff…even less of German aircraft. For some reason however, I’ve always liked that aircraft. Please do let us know how the kit is!

Looks like a challenging paint scheme, Dj. Are you going to do that one?

It’s one I like but there are Lebanese markings that tempt me a lot too… I might have to buy a second one!

That looks very interesting. How about a shot of what’s inside the box?

Yeah, I’ll do that tonight, Swanny!

Here are a few pics of the inside of the box… There’s a bit of flash, and some sink holes here and there but it still looks great. Quite a lot of details inside the fuselage ans wheel wells too. That’s going to be a great build, I feel it…! I have the Squadron Signal book on this bird and there are several very tempting schemes. Also saw on the Hannants website that there’s a cool looking after market decal sheet for the bird and that Eduard already has a PE fret for it (although it does not look that fantastic!)

I’ ve always like that plane…hope you have fun building it. ~:)

Regards, Dan

Some pretty nice detail there for a 1/72 kit. Cleanup doesn’t look very involved. Do the fabric surfaces look as nice as the pics?

Wonder what it is about the “Damned Hunchback.” Three recent 1/48 kits, and a new 1/72. One of the best torpedo bombers of WW II. Are you gonna add the torps?

Depends… If I do the Lebanese vesion, not…
