I inherited an antique wooden ship model

Hello!
I recently inherited this antique wooden ship. The only info I was given from Aunt (my uncle died and he was an avid sailor and loved all things nautical) was that they purchased it in September of 1979 at a Sotheby auction for $1,166 and that it is an “America Pilot Boat, Sailing Ship Model”. It was damaged in transport back from Panama after they had moved down there and built a home. My uncle became sick and they had to sell their home and move back to the US for his care. It can be fixed (all parts are there). Can anyone help me pinpoint what it actually may be and it’s value?

Can you get some better pictures with some detail?

Unfortunately, not. That’s the only pic my aunt had and it’s all wrapped up in packing materials and I’d rather not unpack it.

The only advice I can suggest would be to contact the Nautical Research Guild and see what information somebody there might have. That place deals with a lot of sailing ship models, information, research, etc.

I wish that I could help but you should feel honored that your aunt entrusted you with this keepsake of your uncles.

This is very helpful! Thanks so much.
